An office is job is a dream typical for people. Many are inclined to be part of a company, having their own desk and cubicle, and doing nothing all day but to face the computer. However it seems to have been forgotten that this kind of lifestyle has negative results to a person’s health. It is sedentary and repetitive, at times even depressing. It caused heart problems to others and to some obesity. While the former may not be resolved unless the person resigns, the latter have simple solutions which if adhered to religiously will have excellent results. Here are some tips on preventing becoming obese while keeping your office job.
Eat Breakfast
Some people fail to recognize that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. By having a bulky breakfast, you can get through the day without eating too much. It should be kept in mind that not eating breakfast is suppressing your hunger which your body has been feeling from the night before. Thus, this can result to a great craving, binge eating, and extra calories.
Brush your teeth
Once you have already eaten breakfast, you get to the office lightheaded and ready to work. However, after a few hours it is again time to eat. Make sure that after you eat, you brush your teeth. It has been found that brushing your teeth removes the after taste of food that most people recognize as a need to eat more. Thus, by brushing you remove the chance of eating again or eating too much.
Stand once in a while
A desk job doesn’t necessarily mean you are glued to your chair and your cubicle. Although there are ways to make it such, it is best not to keep you behinds on the chair. If there are chances of getting off the chair and to walk around the office, grab it. Stand and walk around once in a while. Even if it is a very simple task it can still burn calories and help in losing weight.
Stock up on fruits
It is a common habit to office people to stock up some snacks in their drawers. However, this can only increase the chance of consuming unnecessary calories. Rather than store chips or other junk food, it is better to stock up on fruits. Fruits are easy to eat and are way healthier. They can result to a full stomach without giving the extra calories.
Left is right
Research showed that office people mostly reach for things that are on their right side. Therefore, foods that are on the right side are sure to be eaten as compared to the ones on the left. To make sense on this rule, put the junk and chips on the left and the healthier foods on the right. By doing this, you ignore junk foods and are inclined to grabbing the fruits on the right side.
As may be seen, there are a number of ways to prevent becoming obese while maintaining a sedentary lifestyle or desk job. They only need to be adhered to in order to get results.
